it's family time
It's that time of year when people are getting their pictures ready to send out to friends and family for Christmas! A few weeks ago I was able to meet up with a little family during my Thanksgiving break and take their first family portraits. We went all around the Orange Circle searching for cute places to capture their family pictures. Overall is was a fun time and I enjoyed being able to photograph their first portraits together. Merry Christmas and Enjoy! : )

headshots
In the theater, a face is everything. It's the first impression a director has of who you are as an actor or actress before any acting begins. I took pictures for a friend of mine for her theater assignment: providing your headshot. At first I was unsure of what exactly is expected in a headshot...must it always be the black and white serious studio pose? No, they don't. : )
It was a fun little shoot and all the pictures came out looking B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! The pictures above are the best of the shoot, the face of a wonderful actress : )

simply stunning
A vintage dress, a necklace of roses and charms, and hair curled and styled...homecoming. My younger sister is such a sport for being my constant model, and once I saw her homecoming ensemble I just HAD to take some pictures. She looked gorgeous and I love being able to add a vintage look to these photos. The first photo reminded me of Vogue or Pride and Prejudice - and I absolutely love it. Thanks sis!
take time to smell the flowers
It's been awhile since i've been able to do portrait shots, so a friend of mine and I went out on our college campus and I got a chance to take pictures for the morning. It felt so great to be able to be behind the lens again and spend time editing and testing out new poses. Thanks to an amazing friend and a beautiful campus I came out with some fun shots. Enjoy : )

creating new art from old photography
Over the past few weeks I've been experimenting with filters, brushes and textures in photoshop. I've discovered a love for taking something I've already created and making it new again. Adding both my passion for photography and my eye for art I've been producing some "masterpieces" of my own. : )
These are a few of my favorite pieces...each unique and made new.

cap + gown + tassel = graduation photos
Although my class and I graduated about two months ago, I had a friend whose parents were still wanting cap and gown pictures...and I said, "Of course. Why not?" I'm not always a fan of the stiff portrait studio poses that are used for cap and gown pictures so I had to get creative with the outdoor setting. To my surprise the pictures came out looking wonderful, and the last shot was stunning (it's the first one of this set...ended up being my favorite). Who knew a cap and gown could be pretty?

without friends there is no fun
There is no doubt that when my sister and her best friend ask me to take them out on a photo shoot, it's going to be fun. Both of these girlies are B E A U T I F U L and we had a ton of laughs along the way taking pictures. A few are goofy, but hey that's what happens when you're hanging out with your best friend : )

The other day my sister took part in her friend's quinceañera celebration and was one of the girls in her court. She got to play dress up in a pink dress, sparkly heels and oodles of curls upon her head. We had a tiny, little photo shoot as she was leaving out the door and heading to the beginning of the festivities. : )

Senior Portraits
A few weeks ago I did a photo shoot for a graduated senior who was still hoping to get some senior pictures in before college started. We went to Downtown Orange, and in the process of taking pictures, found some new locations and spots for the photos. It turned out to be a great afternoon, and these are a few of the final shots.
